How do we communicate clear, consistent messages to researchers on the what, why and how of open access? This workshop, part of the UCL, Newcastle and Nottingham Jisc OA Pathfinder project, will bring together representatives from institutions, publishers and funders to discuss best practice in communicating with authors, and identify opportunities to develop a more joined up approach to open access advocacy. Confirmed speakers include:
- Mark Thorley – RCUK
- Steven Hill – HEFCE
- Rhodri Jackson – Oxford University Press
- Sana Mulla – BMJ
- Vicky Gardner – Taylor & Francis
- Simon Butt-Bethlendy – Consonant Communications
Representatives of the three institutions will share their own experiences of OA advocacy, and participants will also have the opportunity to learn about internal communications theory, and consider how to apply this in their own institutional context.
The workshop will take place from 10am – 4 pm (with registration and coffee from 9:30), at the Woburn Suite, Senate House, Malet Street, WC1E 7HU London.
Places are limited. Please register here
A full agenda will be circulated to confirmed attendees nearer the time, and we look forward to seeing you there.
